Check out the new fancy knot. Ron and I decided at Combat con that the TW's needed a little more bling. The other 3 whips will have the same low profile knot.
I haven't sent out as many of these as the Dragon's Tails, but quite a few aren't listed here for the exact same reason.

This pair of show whips is off to South Korea. I think they are a nice tribute idea to the Korean flag. Notice how pretty the mirrored handles look. Its a little more special than just inverted colors.
I have sent out a lot of Dragons Tails lately.... ok 11 to be exact. I have not made blogs for all of them because that would look like th same picture over and over and over. Just in case you forgot what they look like, here is one that went to a lovely woman in Germany named Marion.
I wish I could tell you who these all went to, but I did't keep track at CombatCon. I do know that this one went to Celeste. This was my absolute favorite of all of them 8 foot, 16 plait with 5 colors. Here we have a Chery Chocolate Valkyrie! Silver and black Valkyrie Black Valkyrie. 6 foot, 14 plait 6 foot, 12 plait. 6 foot 12 plait 5 foot 12 plait 6 foot 12 plait Bodlak 7 foot 14 plait There were 4 more that I never got pictures of for some reason... oh well.
I have had a lot of people asking about CombatCon. Honestly, there were quite a few things that happened that were awful. I have affectionately named it the trip from hell. However, I'm not going to tell you about all the bad stuff. I'll hit the highlights and the cool stuff that happened. I drove out there all by myself and I'm actually really proud of myself for making it through Vegas. When I got to the Plams it was a nice little casino so it was easy to navigate. My room was cute and the view was lovely. Ron and Tom let me hang out with them. I also met so many new friends. One man who was the vendor right across from me named Garth, made it a lot more fun to be a t the booth. He makes amazing things at SGT Blades. I literally had the best view in the house from my booth!! One of the coolest things that happened to me was when Anthony and Mary DeLongis did a whip demonstration for the public. Anthony swiped a whip off my table to do part of it and gave me the best commercial ever. I wish that I had it on video... but I had no idea that he was going to do that so I was unprepared. ((This picture is almost as good!)) This was the class picture for the Latigo y Daga class and almost all the whips in the picture were made by me! I got to dress up in a pretty costume for a party and dance the night away. Bottom line- Yes, I will go back next year. I will change quite a few things that I do next time. I kind of expected a learning curve though. Next year should be a lot more fun a less stressful.
Last week I attended CombatCon as a vendor. I had a great time, met lots of new friends and I'm planning on going again next year. The only dark cloud in my experience was when someone decided to steal a whip from me. I was attending a class that Anthony DeLongis was teaching and had left my table to be manned by an assistant. He must have been distracted at some point and one of the most expensive whips on the table disappeared. This was a very distinctive whip. It will be easily recognizable from a distance and positively identifiable from just a bit closer. I am appealing to the whip and combat communities to help me find out what happened and get this resolved. I am offering a reward. If you help me find out who took the whip and I get it back, I will personally build you the whip of your choice and rush the order. This offer will stand even if it is years down the road and the whip has been trashed. I just want to know (who) did this and share that information with people who may be interested to know. The whip community is small and with the internet, it is very tight. I know this whip will show up and I want it common knowledge that it is stolen property. Please, share this blog post and the pictures on all your social media. The whip is 7 foot long, 18 plait, ending in a 6 plait with a 3 foot fall that is weighted with ball chain. It has a milky chalcedony on the end knob and a silver ferrule between two accent knots. As you can see, the colors are silver and black. It is all black on one side with one strand of silver that drops out at about the 3 foot mark and all silver on the other with one black strand that goes the entire length of the whip. As far as I know I am the only one making whips with this fall and setup. Yes, there are probably lots of sliver and black whips out there but not with the stone, the ferrule and the weighted fall. This is a one of a kind and easily recognizable. Please help me find it. There is a ray of hope. This happened in a casino in Vegas. Vegas loves security cameras and there was one perfectly positioned to see the face of everyone at my table. Everyone who entered the vendor room had to register and have a pass. There is a good chance that they can match the face of the person who took my whip with their face when they registered. That will take some time and some help from the CombatCon staff. That leads me to my next order of business. I love all the staff! Every one of them were super friendly and helpful even before this happened but especially after. I can not say enough good about them. There were a few times that I wondered something out loud to nobody in particular.... just like magic, a staff member would show up with the information. It is impossible for me to remember all the names, but I would like to say a big Thank you to everyone who helped me. To the person who took my whip-
You have a grace period right now. You can choose to send the whip back to me before we discover your name. If you do that, no harm done. Send the whip to- HolyOak Whips 1081 Jackson st. Moab, UT. 84532 Thanks again to everyone who has reached out in support. It doesn't bring the whip back but it does help to know I have a lot of friends. XOX ~Bobbi~ Ron goes to Germany every year to teach. I always miss him so much when he leaves. This year it has been really fun because he has been sending pictures and video of his trip. Here are a few of my favorites. This is Tom Meadows doing what he does best. This is seriously impressive! Over the years I have met some special men though my whips. Nate is one of my favorites. I have come to Love him as a spirit brother... he even looks like my brother. I haven't laughed so much and so hard with anyone in a really long time. So, I was thrilled when he wanted a whip. Nate's whip, that he named the Dragon Lash, is the biggest whip I have ever cracked let alone the biggest I have made. I was so nervous to make this whip but it turned out exactly as it should. It measures 11.5 foot, 18 plait. Nate promises me that he will take some proper video of him using the whip so I can see what it really should look like in motion. I even had to get a giant waxing pot to accommodate this whip. I'm really going to love having the extra room. I have said it before and I'll most likely say it again... I really love the German people. I think I send about one fourth of my whips to Germany.
These are going to be had delivered by GM Ron Lew. He is going to teach and travel for a month. I'm happy that he is going to have such a fun adventure, but I am really going to miss him. Check them out! Aren't they beautiful? I think this is a really good looking set. Here we have a 7 foot, 16 plait Sonic alignment in tan and black (That is the one with the ferrule) and a 7 foot, 14 plait Sonic alignment in tan and black.
I made this for my super cool and precious friend Tom. He has given me countless bits of amazing advice and listened to all my secrets with out judging or trying to fix me. He may be the only other person in the world who understands my thought processes. I value the friendship more than I can express with words.... So, I made a blingy Love whip instead!
I love you, Tom! I have a lovely friend named Peter that I have met though whips. He is an awesome dad and a great cook and a million other cool things. He is being inducted into the martial arts hall of fame in June and asked if I would make him another Dragon's tail for his trip. I'm thrilled for him. Congratulations, Peter!
