Whips for Martin

I'm really falling in love with the German people!!  This will be my 13th whip in Germany and in the next 2 months I should be sending 7 more.  Every person that I have met so far has been such a delight.

Martin is no exception.  He is really wonderful.  I love his style and color choices.  We worked out the details of his whip and then he wanted to know if I could make a little whip for his son who wants to learn right alongside of Dad.  Well, I'm a big fan of good Dads so I was more than happy to support that kind of bonding time.

Martin's whip is a 7 foot, 14 plait Sonic Alignment
with a heavy fall.  I am so in love with this whip, not only because it is one of my favorite lengths, but also because the handle turned out so pretty.  This is the 14 plait modified birds eye pattern.  A lot of whip makers won't do a 14 plait because it is kind of hard to make it look pretty with an odd number on each side.  Its a shame really because the weight is perfect.

The whip for his son is 4 foot, 12 plait, one belly, light shot load with a 6 inch handle base.  It is not a toy but it is not an adult sized 4 footer either.  It is its own new thing and it is so easy to crack that I am having a hard time putting it down.

The other thing that was fun while building these whips was the color.  Orange and blue are opposite
colors on the color wheel and so are red and green.  That means that the wave length of the colors are the exact opposite.  It played funny tricks on my eyes while I was building them but I love the effect when they were done.

This is a closer look at the handles.  Aren't they pretty?  Notice that the diameter on the little whip is about the size of my finger.

Jonathan Lewis Fids

I have a friend in Colorado who is such an amazing guy.  He understands me....  the really weird nerdy side of me and even encourages it.  I feel comfortable talking to him about herbs, essential oils, autism, tai chi, whip wax...  you name it and he has something intelligent to add to the conversation.

Jonathan is a really talented wood worker and whip maker.  He sent me this lovely gift of fids that he made himself out of wood grown in his orchard.  The coolest thing is they have a end cap so you can stick them in your pocket while playing with your whip with out having to worry about sticking your self.  One has a long string that fits around my neck.  That is my favorite one.

Thanks so much Jonathan!  I love them!

Grand Master Ron Lew is going to Germany to teach his Tibetan Wave system.  I made him some whips to take with him on his journey.  They turned out nicely.

One thing I really love is when I get pictures, videos and comments from clients.  This picture really made my day!

I put this picture on my "friend" page but it is way too cute not to share on the blog as well.  It is of the cutest baby in the world and the brightest HolyOak whip.  Somehow, I think this whip goes perfectly with the superhero onesie.  At this rate he should be a pro before kindergarten.

Since I have a complete Tibetan wave set here at the house, I thought it would be fun to take some pictures of all the whips together.

Sacred Flight

Say hello to Sacred Flight, the newest addition to the Tibetan Wave Series.  This whip has the same setup as the other Tibetan Wave whips with a beautiful new look.

All the whips in the Tibetan Wave Series have a lesson and an intention that go with them that is reflected in the whip colors.

This winter Ron had the idea to add another whip to the line.  He told me that this one needed to be made in earth tones and would teach the lesson of how to ground and be in the body properly.

I thought for sure this one would be named something like Griffin claw or Ogre eye to match the other names.  No, Ron was very sure and very insistent that the name was Sacred Flight.   I ask him why, when this whip teaches grounding, it has Flight in the name.  He told me that it is all about having enough courage to take that very first step on the journey.  "Just like the first step that a baby bird takes out of the nest...  there is no turning back!"

I think that is simply Beautiful!

Are you ready to take Flight?
