Whips for Daniel

These whips are for one of my favorite people on the planet.  I enjoy my friendship with Daniel so much.  He is truly one of the most interesting people I know and a wonderful whip artiest.   For more information on what he is up to, check him out at Mach One Whip Artistry.

Both are 7 foot 14 plait Sonic Alignments but the Brown one is built heavier so it is going to be slightly better for his students.

I'm always so proud of 14 plait handles, Especially the birds eye design.

This ferrule is really special.  It is Daniel's logo and it was a surprise that he didn't know was coming.  I ordered it from Tyler Blake of Exo Whips and I think he did a really great job.

I seriously got all teary when I saw the ferrule. Was not expecting that AT ALL.

The brown and black one is quite possibly one of the most exquisite whips I have ever cracked. That includes 50+ year old samples from the legendary Cecil Henderson!

The connection to the handler is just sublime. I've handled so many whips, (especially "trainer" whips,) that just feel dead. They might roll out cleanly and accurately, they might crack readily and well, but the response is "mechanical." Not only is this one is straight as a pin, and cracks effortlessly, but the handler feels every subtle movement the whip makes.

The green and black with the brass ferrule? Words escape me, (and I'm a long-winded novelist!) The best way that I can describe it...

You know that bit in the Princess Bride when Inigo Montoya is describing the sword that his father Domingo Montoya made to Westley, (it's describe more in depth in the novel by William Goldman how Domingo had to adjust the balance and length of the grip to precisely fit the hand of the Six-Fingered Man,) and Westley's response "I've never seen it's equal."

This whip is my Domingo Montoya sword.

Bobbi and I have gone back and forth about whips and how they handle and how the energy passes through them for well over three years now...Just wonderful conversations between two good friends.

We've also had long, detailed conversations about what my "next whip" from her would be, and we went back and forth with all sorts of different ideas.

Somehow, Bobbi managed to take all that disparate, convoluted, often esoteric and obscure conversation and alchemically distill it into this beautiful green and black Philosophers Stone of supersonic perfection.

Whips make noise. That's what they were designed to do..They speak...They shout...They bark.

This one sings...

I can not thank you enough, dear lady....
