A surprise whip

Almost two years ago, Ron Lew mentioned to me that he would like a whip with an flash opal in the heel.  (I'm sure he has long forgotten the conversation) It took me a while but I finally found the stone!  It is an amazing stone with red, gold, green, blue...  I'm really excited about it.

The whip that goes with it had to be a little more special than the regular Tibetan Wave.  This one has 5 colors, glow in the dark paracord, flash cord and tracer cord.  I also did a pineapple knot   to tie it all together.

I know all of that sounds super crazy but it is actually more subtle and sophisticated than it sounds.  Check it out.

Ron, you really are the best!  Everyday, I'm so grateful that we met!

That second picture down, you can really see the colors flashing off of that opal. Opal is one of my favorite gemstones, and one of the first I remember being able to identify with any certainty because it's my mother's birthstone. I remember when I was very young, Dad bought her a necklace that had an opal centerpiece, and I used to stare at it, trying to figure out how those rainbows shined through that pearly, smooth face.

I still occasionally find myself similarly staring at the selenite in the heel of my Dragon's Tail.

Enjoy your gift, Maestro!

What a great memory, Daniel. =) This opal is interesting because it is greyish blue. That was the inspiration for the silver flash.
