Now that covid19 has caused the world to go a bit slower, I have a little extra time to catch up on the website.
So lets get to the good part!
A collection of my whips that are going out as well as related videos and articles that I think are interesting.
Since I last blogged, my world has turned upside down a few times. Two immediate family members have battled cancer. One won and one did not. I have went back to school and got a degree in nutrition. My Great aunt moved in to our home. My days are still filled with all kinds of OT, PT, Speech therapy and all manner of autism stuff.... and of course, whip making. I took a whip making apprentice. His name is Justin and he is getting better all the time. Now that covid19 has caused the world to go a bit slower, I have a little extra time to catch up on the website. So lets get to the good part! 5 foot Show whips Slip and Jab... whip maker problems. I carved my logo for fun. I made this Helix for my friend Scott. I'm super proud of how it turned out. Never got a proper picture of this one. I made some memorial jewelry out of horse hair for a friend who's beloved horse died. I think these turned out quite pretty. Never got a good picture of this one either.... but I love this pattern. My favorite Helix I changed the pattern on the classic Tibetan Wave. I like it better. Sadly, I didn't have time to take pictures of these either. Delongis Alignment Helix! This is the board I broke in a seminar. and I learned how to walk on fire! At the time Travelers Ball.... The previous 2 whips are glow in the dark. I really like this metallic cord. This is one of 5 that I have made just like this. I'm making quite a few with tracer cord too. This is what it looks like with the flash on. This is a close up of the red metallic cord, I've made 3 just like this one. I think the Metallic cord comes in purple, blue, green and silver as well. I was really lucky to get to go to CombatCon again this year. This is the single thing that I do for myself and running away and meeting up with friends in Vegas is so healing for me. Check out some of what went on. It was at the Flamingo this year and will be again next year. The hotel was a trip, it was easy to get lost in for how small it is. My booth turned out cute this year. Thanks to Daniel who helped me make a new banner that showcases the new Tibetan wave whips. Seriously, some of my favorite people! I have no idea why the cool kids let me hang out with them... I consider both of these gentlemen my family. It was wonderful to get a good chunk of face time with them. I can not say enough good about this woman! Mary is such a ray of sunshine! Tibetan wave class The Time Travelers Ball was fun... but all the pix are out in the hall because the music was very questionable. The stick class that Ron taught. I was way over my head but it was fun. Yes, Ron is helping Anthony decide which whips to buy. (That particular one was not one of them) I didn't have time to take any pictures of these at my house by the rock.... But Daniel took some great pictures for me. What a great friend. These are my bouncers! Ron and Mike watched my booth for me and nothing got stolen this year! There was a tournament going on all weekend and I had a great view from my booth. This is Scott McElroy using some HolyOak whips. You may not recognize him in this picture but he is the actor from Underworld who uses the whips. He was really nice and even taught the underworld routine to my buddy Chris just for giggles. Seriously, the highlight of my week was taking the master class with Anthony and Mary. I learned so much and had so much fun. I didn't even care that it was 1am and we had been whipping since 7pm. The other highlight was spending time with Daniel. I love this man like a brother and he made the whole trip easier. Oh!!! Look at that..... Anthony does the Tibetan Wave too! (Now we need to get Ron doing the rolling loop)
Hello, friends! I'm sorry that I have neglected my blog for so long. I've had computer issues and family stuff going on and my website has been one thing that I let slide.
I have been working on all your orders and am doing my best to get them all out, thank you for your patience and encouraging words. So, lets get down to what you really want to see on this blog... the whips! This is Plot Twist, isn't she so beautiful? So here is how you can buy a chance to have her for your very own- Go on over to Leg up Equestrian Assistance and purchase as many tickets as you would like. My friend Jos and his wife Mary run a charity that helps equestrians and horses who are in need of assistance. In the past they have helped riders and horses who have suffered injuries as well as helping those who have been displaced by natural disasters. The way that they raise funds is to raffle off one foal each year. Pictures of this years filly, her parents, a full pedigree chart of both parents as well as the rules and information on the raffle and charity can be found on the above link. You have till the end of the year to get in on the fun! If you do happen to win Plot Twist, she is in Oklahoma and you are responsible for picking her up. If you win and you really don't want a foal, you can donate her back and they will auction her off to raise even more money for the charity. (plus, you'll get really good karma) One of the hats that Jos wears is that of photographer. Some of his work can be viewed on my front page as well as the show whip page. His work is really stunning and you can see more of it at Equine Images. I particularly like the fantasy and the equine portraits. As a part of this years fundraiser, they have done a cute beefcake photo shoot. Here is a little preview. I really love that one of my whips is being used as a prop. See if you can find it! My favorite part is when he picks up the ocean and makes it spray off the whips! These whips are for one of my favorite people on the planet. I enjoy my friendship with Daniel so much. He is truly one of the most interesting people I know and a wonderful whip artiest. For more information on what he is up to, check him out at Mach One Whip Artistry. Both are 7 foot 14 plait Sonic Alignments but the Brown one is built heavier so it is going to be slightly better for his students. I'm always so proud of 14 plait handles, Especially the birds eye design. This ferrule is really special. It is Daniel's logo and it was a surprise that he didn't know was coming. I ordered it from Tyler Blake of Exo Whips and I think he did a really great job.
This pretty pair is heading to the UK. The pink whips is a 16 plait 8 footer and I am really in love with the pattern. The other whip is a standard Sacred Flight.
Linda is a very cool wife. This whip is actually a surprise for her husband, Jim. I love when I get to be a part of something fun like this.
These dragon's tails are number 299 ans 300! I only have a few left on my list to do before they are retired forever. Why am I retiring something that is so popular?? Well, there are so many reasons but the biggest ones are that the pattern is really difficult, the colors shrink weird on the wax and cause twisting half the time. That causes me to have to rebuild them and say more swear words than I wan to. Then there is the awful name... Being a woman whip maker, I have worked really hard to create tools that can be used in the martial arts community as well as the spiritual community. I have carved out a few niches that I am comfortable in and this one whip puts me in a category that I would rather not be int because of it's name.
While these may not be the last ones, they may be the last ones blogged about. Good night sweet Dragons. xox I didn't take good enough notes on this whip and I built it in copper instead of stainless steel. I have to remake it but that means that some lucky person gets to skip the long long waiting list. If you are interested in buying this whip, email me. (The fall will be changed out for a black one and not the one in the photo)
I'm so proud of this whip handle! It is kind of hard to mak 14 plaits look nice. This pattern is really lovely and looks just as good as any other plait number. It was super difficult to keep strait and I loved the challenge of it.
I love this set too much! It is always cool to see a Valkyrie and a whipper snapper together, but when they are a matched pair it is so beautiful!
These are going to Bradly Phillips and his son. They have a very unique business where they take care of problem wildlife. They use the sound of the bullwhips to get rid of geese in a kind and humane way. If you are in need of there services, you can find them Here! This beautiful whip was supposed to go to France....
Somehow, it ended up living at Rancho Indalo instead. ((yes, it was that good!)) That's a really great home for it too! I have also decided to offer an Indalo Combo pack to students of Anthony's and people who aspire to be his student. The Indalo combo is a matching set of 1 Valkyrie, 1 De Longis Alignment and Mastering the bullwhip 3&4 DVDs. I will also send the whips right to the ranch at no extra charge, so they will be there when you arrive. Price is on the De Longis page and the price list page. Every so often there is a whip that takes extra blood sweat and tears.... and maybe a string of swear words that would make a sailor blush. This is that whip! Everything that could go wrong with it, did go wrong with it. It even came back once! It took twice as long as it should have and that is why I named it the curse. In the end it was a nice whip that rolled out perfectly strait and I was happy with it. (Even more happy with it when it left my house and arrived safely at it's new home) I couldn't help it... this whip really needed an exorcism before it left the second time! :) |
